Hello, World!

Hello, world! In our first edition of the Eleventy Meetup, we're bringing you a talk from our illustrious leader, Zach Leatherman, about the forthcoming Eleventy Serverless. Plus, Mike Aparicio will share about templating languages in a talk focused on helping beginner 11ty devs!

Eleventy Serverless

Formerly known as Eleventy Cloud, Eleventy Serverless will allow Eleventy projects to:

  • Lazily render individual templates outside of your primary build using Distributed Persistent Rendering. This is super useful for large projects with a lot of templates.
  • Serve personalized per-user content via server-side rendering.

Zach Leatherman (he/him)

Zach is a builder for the web at Font Awesome and the creator/maintainer of Eleventy (11ty), an award-winning open source site generator. At one point he became entirely too fixated on web fonts. He has given 84 talks in nine different countries at events like Beyond Tellerrand, Smashing Conference, Jamstack Conf, CSSConf, and The White House. Formerly part of CloudCannon, Netlify, Filament Group, NEJS CONF, and NebraskaJS.

Templating: Eleventy's Superpower

One of the many cool features of Eleventy is its support of multiple template languages. But what the heck are template languages and how can you use them to make your static Eleventy sites feel like the dynamic, server-rendered sites of yore?

Mike Aparicio

Mike is the Senior Design Systems Engineer at Provi, where he helps developers turn pictures of websites into actual websites. Mike is the creator of 11ty.recipes, dogsof.dev and coolcss.dev. He is also the self-appointed vice president of the Zach Leatherman Fan Club.
